The CMP SOLO range of cable glands are made from high-grade brass and are available with a corrosion-resistant nickel-plated coating, with LSF and Halogen-Free elastomeric sealing rings and shrouds.
In the event of fire, these LSF and Halogen-Free materials considerably reduce the amount of toxic fumes and the rate at which they would be produced, creating a safer environment.
With the ever present need for safety of personnel in the workplace, and safety of the public at large, many users have become acutely aware of the material specifications required to ensure both employees and members of the public are kept free from harm in the event of a fire.
As it is possible that noxious or poisonous fumes can be generated during the burning process of some elastomeric materials, a greater emphasis is now placed upon the material specification content of cables, cable glands and shrouds, especially in areas which could be occupied by the general public.
Another factor which is equally important is the amount of smoke generated from the burning of elastomeric materials during a fire, which if allowed to develop in large amounts could become a visibility hazard, preventing those caught up in a fire from seeing or finding the escape route.
